Manchester United’s Amorim Remains Unfazed by Team’s Struggles

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has brushed off speculation about his future at the club, despite a dismal run of results that has left the team in a precarious position.

United’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford on Saturday further exacerbated the pressure on Amorim, who has taken just 34 points from 99 since his appointment nearly a year ago.

Amorim reiterated his commitment to the team, saying, “I’m always doing my job. If I win, I’m in a different state of mind. That is normal, but I’m always confident because I know what to do.”

He added that his focus is on winning the next game and creating momentum, rather than protecting himself or the players.

Amorim’s confidence in his ability to turn the team around is unwavering, despite criticism from fans and pundits.

Amorim attributed the loss to Brentford to his team’s inability to impose their game plan, saying, “We played Brentford’s game, not our own game.”

He acknowledged that United struggled to settle into the match and failed to push the opponent effectively.

“We never pushed the opponent. We knew that every time they recovered the ball, they would make a run and they would fight for the ball,” Amorim explained.

United forward Matheus Cunha expressed frustration over the team’s inability to secure wins, highlighting the importance of every game in the Premier League this season.

“Right now, to say something is really, really hard. We know how important it is to wear this shirt and win every game,” Cunha said.

Despite the challenges, Amorim’s players seem to support him, with captain Bruno Fernandes backing the manager’s approach.

There are indications that Manchester United’s ownership is standing by Amorim, with minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly having a strong relationship with the manager.

According to reports, Ratcliffe and Amorim communicate regularly, and the club’s hierarchy admires Amorim’s man-management skills, particularly his ability to revitalize Casemiro’s career.
