Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been medically cleared to play in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, providing a major boost to the team.

Nwabali had sparked concern after sustaining an injury during Chippa United’s match against Richards Bay on Tuesday night.

However, Super Eagles Media Officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed his availability in an exclusive chat with Persecondnews correspondent, stating, “Yes, Nwabali has been given the green light to participate in the qualifiers. He was taken off as a precautionary measure, and we have been in constant communication with the shot stopper.”

“We are expecting a full house for the upcoming games and the coach and his backroom staff’s are leaving zero margin for errors in the upcoming fixtures. ”

The Super Eagles need all hands on deck to revive their World Cup qualification hopes, and Nwabali’s clearance is a significant boost to the team’s prospects.

With his skills between the sticks, the team can look forward to a more solid defense, which is crucial for success in the qualifiers.

Persecondnews recalls that Super Eagles have conceded four goal and kept just one clean sheet in five games.

The Nigeria senior National team has kept just one clean sheet in 2025, a concern for Eric Chelle.

Meanwhile, Captain William Troost-Ekong, defender Bruno Onyemaechi, and goalkeeper Amas Obasogie were the first players to arrive in Uyo on Monday as the Super Eagles opened camp for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

The trio checked into the team’s base at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, with Troost-Ekong and Obasogie arriving together before being joined later by Onyemaechi.
