Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the signing of Eberechi Eze will significantly boost the team’s title challenge.
According to Arteta, the move demonstrates the club’s ambition to end a 22-year wait for a Premier League trophy.
“We are showing the ambition that we are here to win major trophies and to keep evolving and improving every single year,” Arteta stated.
Arteta noted that the decision to sign Eze was not a reaction to Kai Havertz’s injury but rather a well-planned move.
“We’ve been very prepared and understanding what we could do, and we have decided this is the moment to do it,” he explained.
The signing of Eze takes Arsenal’s spending in the transfer window to around £260 million.
Arteta believes that the signing of Eze will bring a different level of emotion and willpower to the team.
“The better the feeling, the stronger the feeling, I think the better… It brings a different edge, a different will and emotion to what you do,” he said.
With this signing, Arsenal is confident of winning the Premier League title after finishing second for the past three seasons.
Arteta’s message is clear: Arsenal wants to be at the top of the league, not just chasing or reacting.
“We want to be in front in the league, not just chasing or reacting or being behind, but in front of it, and every decision that we make in every area of the club is to achieve that,” he emphasized.
With a strong start to the season, including a 1-0 win over Manchester United, Arsenal is poised to make a serious title challenge.
