President Bola Tinubu on Thursday inaugurated the tax credit-funded reinforced concrete road leading to the Lekki Deep Sea Port and also flagged off critical segments of Nigeria’s expansive road infrastructure push.
The commissioned projects include Section II of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the 7th axial road, marking significant milestones in the country’s infrastructure development.
According to President Tinubu, these projects are part of his administration’s transformation agenda, aimed at stimulating economic growth through improved connectivity, ease of doing business, and rural-urban integration.
“Transportation infrastructure is central to the success of our Renewed Hope agenda,” Tinubu said.
“Today, I am commissioning a number of strategic roads designed to open up key corridors for trade, agriculture, and regional integration.”
The newly Inaugurated projects are expected to have a profound impact on Nigeria’s economy.
The reinforced concrete access road to the Lekki Deep Sea Port will unlock the full economic potential of the country’s fastest-growing port, while Section II of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will improve connectivity across southern Nigeria.
Additionally, the Kano-Kongolam Road and the Yakasai-Zalli Road will enhance transportation in Northern corridors.
President Tinubu noted that the roads are more than just infrastructure projects, but investments in mobility, jobs, and Nigeria’s long-term economic competitiveness.
“These roads are more than just concrete, steel, and asphalt. They are investments by your government in mobility, jobs, and Nigeria’s long-term economic competitiveness,” Tinubu said.
The president’s infrastructure drive is seen as a cornerstone of his administration’s strategy to stimulate economic growth.
