The Ayo competition at the 22nd National Sports Festival has wrapped up at the Ikenne Centre in Ogun State, delivering thrilling performances in both the male and female singles categories.

At the Remo Stars Stadium, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, clinched the gold medal in the men’s singles final.

Akwa Ibom State secured the silver medal after a strong challenge, while Bayelsa and Edo States each earned a bronze medal following impressive semifinal showings, reports Persecondnews correspondent covering the Gateway Games.

In the women’s singles, Akwa Ibom State dominated, taking home the gold medal with a commanding display.

Rivers State claimed the silver, and Ekiti and Bayelsa States shared the two bronze medals, completing the podium.

The results highlight the growing competitiveness and skill level in traditional games like Ayo across Nigeria.

The Ayo competition has showcased the talents of athletes from different states, and the results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the participants.
