Real Madrid’s French superstar, Kylian Mbappe, has been ruled out of the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Real Sociedad due to a dental problem.

Mbappe, who is Madrid’s leading goalscorer with 28 goals in 39 matches this season, did not train with his teammates on Tuesday ahead of the game.

Despite his absence from the squad, coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Mbappe would travel to San Sebastian.

The French striker’s absence is a significant blow to Real Madrid’s attacking lineup, but Ancelotti will be hoping that his team can still secure a positive result against Real Sociedad.

In other team news, midfielder Fede Valverde and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois were also left out of the travelling group to recover from minor fitness issues.

However, England international Jude Bellingham returned to the squad after missing Sunday’s La Liga win against Girona through suspension.

The Copa del Rey semi-finals are heating up, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid playing out a thrilling 4-4 draw in the first leg of the other semi-final on Tuesday.

Real Madrid will be looking to take advantage of their opponents and secure a crucial win in the first leg against Real Sociedad.
