The details of Éric Chelle’s contract as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles unveiled on Tuesday in Abuja have now emerged.

Persecondnews gathered that Éric Chelle’s package as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles includes a monthly salary of $55,000, which translates to approximately N84,984,900.00 (million).

According to sources, the lucrative deal is a testament to the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) commitment to attracting best talent to lead the national team.

Chelle’s appointment has generated significant excitement among Nigerian football fans, and his impressive resume suggests that he is worth every penny.

The former Mali national team coach boasts an impressive track record, having led Les Aigles to a respectable quarterfinal finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

His experience and tactical acumen make him an ideal candidate to lead the Super Eagles to glory.

Persecondnews reports that the financial details of Chelle’s contract are a significant improvement on his predecessor’s deal.

Jose Peseiro, the last coach of the Super Eagles, reportedly earned $70,000 monthly.

“However, Chelle’s deal is still an impressive investment by the NFF, demonstrating their commitment to competing with the best in African football,” a source at NFF said.

Chelle’s contract also includes provisions for two assistants, who will earn $5,000 each monthly with the short-term contract set to expire in October 2025, a clear indication that the NFF is focused on achieving immediate results.

As the 2028 FIFA World Cup qualifiers approach, Éric Chelle’s top priority will be to steer the Super Eagles through a triumphant qualification journey.
