Vice President Kashim Shettima is optimistic about Nigeria’s economic prospects in 2025, promising a robust economy that will bring smiles back to Nigerians’ faces.

In a video message shared on X handle of Dada Olusegun, presidential aide on social media, Shettima assured citizens that the government is working tirelessly to address the country’s challenges, collaborating closely with the National Assembly to achieve this goal.

This positive outlook is reinforced by projections from organizations like Afrinvest, which forecasts modest economic growth in 2025, driven by sectors such as agriculture, oil and gas, consumer goods, industrial goods, banking, and telecommunications.

Shettima said: “I believe we have turned a corner. Insha Allah, we shall have very robust economic activity in the new year.

“The economy has started picking up, and in the coming weeks and months, Nigerians will start smiling for the better.

“We are working assiduously with the National Assembly to come up with robust solutions to our national challenges.

“There is no nation that is immune to the economic headwinds across the world. The crisis in Ukraine and many other global crises are affecting us because we are part of the global economy.”

“But I want to assure Nigerians that the economy is turning the corner, and by the grace of God, we have crossed the Rubicon and are on a path to sustained growth. We wish Nigerians well,” the vice president also said.
