President Bola Tinubu has made significant changes to his list of nominees for the Southeast Development Commission (SEDC) board.
Dr. Emeka Nworgu has been nominated as the new chairman, replacing Mr. Emeka Atuma.
Additionally, the President replaced the three initial executive directors and added two more.
The new executive directors include Mr. Stanley Ohajuruka as executive director of finance, Mr. Toby Okechukwu as executive director of projects, and Chief Sylvester Okonkwo as executive director of corporate services.
Chidi Echeazu and Dr. Clifford Ogbede have also been nominated as executive directors without a portfolio, according to a statement by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Tinubu.
Mr. Mark C. Okoye will retain his position as the Commission’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer on the 16-member board.
Other retained nominees include Mr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Mr. Okey Ezenwa, Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, and Mr. Ifeanyi Agwu, among others.
Persecondnews reports that Mr. Donatus Nwankpa is the only board member who has been removed.
All the nominations are subject to Senate confirmation.
Tinubu expects the new nominees to utilize their experience and expertise to actualize the Commission’s mandate and develop the Southeast region.
