In an effort to make air travel more affordable during the forthcoming festive season, Aero Contractors has announced a minimum ticket price of N80,000 for local flights across its routes.

The airline’s Managing Director, Mr. Ado Sanusi, who announced the discounted fare during a press briefing on Tuesday, said it was a gesture to ease the financial strain on Nigerians during the holiday season.

According to Sanusi, the promo, which will run until January 2024, reflects the airline’s dedication to rewarding its customers during the festive period.

He said: “We understand the economic hardship Nigerians are facing, especially with high ticket prices, and we know the holiday season is nearby.

“In the spirit of Christmas, Aero Contractors has introduced what we call pocket-friendly Christmas prices. These fares, starting at N80,000, will apply to all our destinations, allowing Nigerians to travel without excessive costs.

“This is a way for us, as an organization with a long history of serving Nigerians, to give back to our loyal customers. We want to make it possible for families to meet their loved ones during this festive season without worrying about exorbitant travel costs.”

Sanusi assured customers that despite slashing prices, Aero Contractors had factored in current economic conditions to ensure the airline’s profitability.

Persecondnews’ investigation on Tuesday afternoon showed that Aero Contractors had charged N99,643 for economy class and N189,167 for business class on Lagos-Abuja flights before the fare reduction.

Air Peace’s current fares for economy class are as follows: Abuja to Lagos costs N95,400, while flights from Abuja to Enugu and Abuja to Kano are both priced at N95,000.

Arik Air’s current fares for economy class are as follows: Abuja to Lagos costs N80,571, while flights from Abuja to Port Harcourt are priced at N90,095.

Ibom Air’s current fares for economy class are as follows: Abuja to Lagos costs N123,000, Abuja to Enugu costs N153,500, and Abuja to Uyo costs N114,400.

United Nigeria Airline’s current fares for economy class are as follows: flights from Abuja to Enugu, Lagos, and Port Harcourt are all uniformly priced at N95,000.
