The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the nominees for the 2024 CAF Women’s Player of the Year, with Super Falcons duo of Rasheedat Ajibade and Chiamaka Nnadozie making the cut.

Ajibade and Nnadozie are among 10 outstanding female footballers vying for the prestigious award.

The nomination recognizes their exceptional performances for both club and country.

Rasheedat Ajibade played a crucial role in Atletico Madrid’s impressive third-place finish in the Spanish Iberdrola 2023/24 season.

Her impressive displays earned her a spot among Africa’s best.

Chiamaka Nnadozie, meanwhile, was instrumental in Paris FC’s qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Her outstanding goalkeeping skills also earned her the Best Goalkeeper award at the 2023 CAF Awards.

The Super Falcons duo’s nomination is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport.

Ajibade and Nnadozie were key players in Nigeria’s squad at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Asisat Oshoala, who won the award last year, will look on as a new champion emerges.

The winner will be announced at the CAF Awards ceremony later this year.

The list of nominees for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year crown, which is currently held by Oshoala, includes Sandrine Niyonkuru (Burundi / FC Masar), Tabitha Chawinga (Malawi / Olympique Lyonnais), Temwa Chawinga (Malawi / Kansas City), Sanaa Mssoudy (Morocco / AS FAR), and Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria / Paris FC).
