The Federal Government has made changes to the governing councils of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, and the Federal University, Lokoja.

The Federal Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday that the adjustments, approved by President Bola Tinubu, are intended to promote national cohesion and improve governance within the affected institutions.

According to the statement, signed by the Director of Press, Folashade Boriowo, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN) has been reassigned as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of FUOYE, while Engr. Kayode Ojo will now serve in the same capacity at FULokoja.

The statement said: “Following approval by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the swapping involves Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba SAN being reassigned as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, while Engr. Kayode Ojo will assume the same role at Federal University, Lokoja.

“This change follows the observation that the current Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Engr. Kayode Ojo, is an indigene of Ekiti State.

“As part of the Ministry’s commitment to promoting national integration and ensuring impartial oversight, it is standard practice for pro-chancellors to be appointed from outside the state of the university. This ensures unbiased governance and supports the core values of diversity and national unity.”
