President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday decorated the acting Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, as Lieutenant General in a brief ceremony held at the State House in Abuja.
According to Persecondnews, the event took place in the president’s office complex.
According to the President’s communications team, Oluyede’s decoration as Lieutenant General is a significant development in the Nigerian military.
President Tinubu announced Oluyede’s appointment as acting Chief of Army Staff last Wednesday, following the incapacitation of his predecessor, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
