Oyo Gov. Makinde’s associate abducted from his home in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of Mr. Benedict Akika, a close associate of Gov. Seyi Makinde.
According to reports, they took Akika, a prominent member of the PDP in Oyo State, from his Olorunda Aba home in Lagelu Local Government Area on Wednesday evening.
The whereabouts of Akika have not been known as of the time of filing this report.
The state command’s spokesman, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the abduction and announced the launch of an investigation into the incident.
He promised to fully inform the public of the outcome as soon as the incident investigation was complete.
“Investigation has commenced into the matter. Updates will be provided accordingly, please.”
Gunmen attacked Mr. Akika’s home in Olorunda Abba in what appeared to be a well-planned attack, according to a witness.
The witness said: “The gunmen overpowered his security personnel and whisked him away in a vehicle, leaving behind a trail of panic and confusion in the community.”
