Seyi Law: “I don’t benefit from Tinubu’s govt but I stand by his policies

He further admitted that Nigerians are indeed suffering due to the current policies but remained hopeful that relief would come in the future.

Despite being a staunch supporter and vocal defender of President Bola Tinubu, Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has made it clear that he does not personally benefit from the current administration.

Speaking during a recent interview on the Mic On Podcast, hosted by Seun Akinbaloye, Seyi Law reiterated his strong support for the president’s policies, even as the country grapples with economic challenges.

During the interview, Akinbaloye posed a question that many Nigerians have been asking: “They are those who say that if it was Peter Obi who was elected president, or if it was Atiku Abubakar, they would have done better than what we are seeing today.”

In response, Seyi Law interjected firmly, stating, “Nobody could have done better than what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing today.”

Asked if he truly believed that the current state of affairs was the best any leader could have offered.

The comedian was unwavering in his response, highlighting Tinubu’s campaign promises and their alignment with his current policies.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had the best manifesto out of the top candidates, and I challenge any of them to present theirs so we can compare.

“The president has stayed true to his manifesto, and his processes are in alignment with what he hopes to achieve, and I’m very happy with that,” he asserted.

Addressing the widespread criticism of the government’s economic policies, which have led to increased hunger and hardship across Nigeria, the comedian acknowledged the suffering but maintained his support for the president’s approach.

“I knew the pains that were going to come with some of these policies, and I had prepared myself for them,” he explained.

“But at the same time, I must not put myself in the shoes of every other person and assume that they would be able to bear the pain as I would.”

Seyi Law also made it clear that his support for Tinubu is not driven by personal gain.

“Like I have always said, I don’t benefit anything from the government, I don’t work with the government aside from my recent appointment, but I speak the truth when I have to,” he said.

He further admitted that Nigerians are indeed suffering due to the current policies but remained hopeful that relief would come in the future.

“I understand that these policies are going to come with pain in the short term. At the medium and short term, we should start feeling some sort of relief from the pain and hunger,” Seyi Law said.
