Tinubu’s Govt Committed To Fighting Insurgency – Defence Minister Assures

The Minister of Defence, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, has assured officers and men of the Armed Forces of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to equipping and training them to enhance their combat readiness against insurgency and terrorism.

According to Persecondnews, the minister made this remark during his visit to the military operations theatre in Katsina, as reported by the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation’s X account.

The Minister, while addressing Operation Hadarin Daji at the 213 Forward Operating Base, Katsina, acknowledged President Tinubu’s significant successes in the fight against insurgency and related crimes.

He urged the troops to continue the fight against insurgency and banditry, commending their sacrifices and commitment.

On the recent killing of soldiers in Abia State, the minister reassured the government’s determination to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent such incidents from happening again.

Air Commodore G.I. Jibia, Commanding Air Component, 213 Forward Operation Hadarin Daji, appreciated the minister’s visit, stating that it would boost troops’ morale.

Earlier, the Minister held an interactive discussion with officers and men of the Headquarters of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji, Katsina, to assess their preparedness in responding to insecurity threats in the region.

The Minister also visited the Nigerian Army Medical Centre in Katsina, where he sympathized with military personnel injured during combat operations.
