The Enugu State Police Command has refuted the allegation that they abducted an Abuja-based online news publisher, Mr. Madu Onuorah.

Rather, the command said they arrested him in Abuja with the assistance of police operatives from Ebonyi State Command and intelligence after attempts to formally invite him failed.

A US-based Reverend Sister filed a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, accusing the publisher of publishing defamatory material about her.

Persecondnews recalls the “abduction” of the veteran defense correspondent and publisher of the Global Upfront newspaper (online) from his home in the Lugbe area of Abuja.

In the meantime, Enugu State Police Commissioner Kanayo Uzuegbu has called on the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and friends of the accused to exercise patience, promising that the case will be handled professionally and justice will prevail.
