Just in: Court grants DCP Abba Kyari two-week bail for mother’s burial

DCP Abba Kyari, a former commander of the Force Intelligence Response Team who is currently remanded in prison over drug-related charges, was on Wednesday granted bail on compassionate grounds to enable him to attend his mother’s funeral in Borno State.
A Federal High Court in Abuja granted Kyari a two-week bail.
The court scheduled a hearing for his bail application on Friday, May 31.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is prosecuting Kyari for drug-related offences following his arrest over two years ago, on February 14, 2022.
