Dramatic Champions League night at the Emirates ends in a draw as Arsenal blow an early lead, with Harry Kane and Serge Gnabry punishing the lacklustre Gunners defence.
Harry Kane’s first-half penalty put the visitors ahead after Serge Gnabry cancelled out Bukayo Saka’s opening strike.
The England captain punished a mistake by Gunners defender William Saliba after he tripped Leroy Sane in the box.
Kane converted the resulting spot kick, and then Trossard fired Arsenal level in the second half after a magic dribble from Gabriel Jesus.
And there was late drama at the end as Saka was brought down in the box by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, with Arsenal’s appeals waved away by the referee.
Trossard said in his post-match speech that “it was a penalty” as the goalkeeper made contact with Saka.
Leandro Trossard, who becomes the first ever Arsenal player to score in each of his first four Champions League home games for the club, stated that “we are not pleased with the results.”
The Arsenal super sub said his team played so well and “could have scored more.
“At the end of the day, it is a draw, and we have to turn it around in Germany.”
The Belgian said Arsenal is a great team, pointing out that “if we play at our best level, we can beat anybody.”
