Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro got brutally trolled online for playing Ola Aina in the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations with Cote d’Ivoire, despite getting injured in the semis against South Africa.

The internet was quickened on Saturday after Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santos revealed in his presser that the Super Eagles skillful wingback, Aina, played the final with an injury.

He said: “Ola Aina was injured in the (AFCON) semis and played the final, but it wasn’t great.”

On the availability of Aina for Saturday’s game against Aston Villa, he said: “He is not available, and we have no return date.”

@Sports_Doctor wrote on X : “Now this explains that horrible match he had in the finals, and this is the more reason I’m not happy with Jose Peseiro!!!

“He knew Ola Aina was injured but still played him, and when he saw Adingra was getting the best of him, he still allowed him on the pitch for the whole match!!!

Get well soon, man, you’re a star!.”

@NnabuikemMadrid on X said: “This also justifies why Jose Peseiro has to leave. Ola Aina is not Ronaldo or Benzema and should have been replaced by another defender like Bright Osayi.”

“Peseiro is a terrible coach. He overplayed his starting XI. If you don’t trust your other players, why take them to the competition at all? We lost the finals because of bad coaching,” Persecondnews quotes @Realers as saying on X.
