Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association and Edo State governorship aspirant, Mr. Olumide Akpata, has won the ticket of the Labour Party for the September 2024 poll.
Akpata emerged as the winner after scoring 316 votes in the primary, which was held at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre, Airport Road, in Benin City, the Edo State capital, on Friday.
The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Mr. Ikechukwu Emetu, who is the Returning Officer for the poll, made the declaration after collating the results.
Persecondnews reports that the Edo State Governorship Election is scheduled for September 21, 2024.
