Civil servants from grade levels 1 to 14 will start working three days a week, according to Lagos Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as part of efforts to lessen ongoing economic difficulties.

He disclosed the efforts being taken to lessen the financial strain on Lagosians during a live media conversation dubbed “Sanwo Speaks” monitored by Persecondnews.

However, teachers will continue to work five days a week, with a promise by the government to provide them with additional transportation help.

Sanwo-Olu said the administration would create more markets where Lagosians could purchase food at reduced prices in response to the growing cost of food in the state and across the country.

“We will launch Sunday Markets in at least 42 designated markets around the state of Lagos.

“Food items will be available for purchase at a reduced cost. You can only purchase goods up to N25,000, according to Sanwo-Olu.
