Namang, Plateau APC spokesperson, pub owner, shot dead while carousing

Mr Sylvanus Namang, the Plateau State Publicity Secretary for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been fatally shot.

The tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Pankshin in the Pankshin local government area on February 17.

According to information gathered by Persecondnews, Namang was shot and killed by some yet-unidentified assailants at a hangout in Pankshin town called Sunny Best Joint.

Namang had travelled from Jos to Pankshin for a funeral and was lounging with friends when he and the joint’s owner, Sunny Okonkwo, were assassinated by gunmen.

Meanwhile, the State Party Chairman, Mr Rufus Bature, confirmed that the publicity secretary was killed in Pankshin on Saturday night.

Namang was a director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and general manager of Lafia FM Radio for four years.

He also served as the Chief Press Secretary to the late Sen. Ibrahim Mantu, Deputy Senate President in the Obasanjo administration.
