APC’s Laguda wins Gbajabiamila’s Surulere federal constituency by-election

Fuad Kayode Laguda, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has won the Surulere Federal Constituency 1 bye-election in Lagos State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the victory of Gbajabiamila’s replacement in the National Assembly.

Prof. Simeon Adebayo, the INEC’s Returning Officer for the bye-election, announced the results on Saturday, confirming Laguda’s victory with 11,203 votes.

After being named Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila left the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, and resigned his Surulere constituency seat to pave way for a by-election.
