The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued Mr. Suleiman Sabo, who was abducted along Sabon-Lugbe Airport Road in the nation’s capital.

At around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, FCT police officers were able to free the victim, who had suffered injuries as a result of the kidnappers’ rough handling.

Persecondnews reports that Mr. Sabo was driving home with his wife in a grey Lexus SUV with registration number ABC 769 TP when kidnappers intercepted his vehicle along Sabon-Lugbe Airport Road in the FCT.

They were returning from the city centre and heading home when the attackers inside a golf car shot at his car and deflated the tyres.

Unfortunately, the gunmen drove away with Mr. Sabo, while his wife was lucky to have escaped.

Revealing details of Mr. Sabo’s rescue in a statement on Sunday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said the rescued victim is currently receiving medical treatment while the suspect is in police custody.

The statement read: “In a continued effort to rid FCT of criminality, police operatives attached to Iddo Divisional Headquarters on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at about 1130 hrs rescued another kidnapped victim, one Suleiman Sabo’m’, from kidnappers in Sauka, along Airport Road, Abuja.

“During the rescue operation, one Muhammad Abel’m’ aged 32 from Kogi State was equally apprehended, and one LAR rifle with 10 rounds of life ammunition was recovered from him.

“The victim, who sustained some injuries from the kidnappers, is currently receiving medical attention and will be reunited with his family once certified fit by the medical team.
