Real Madrid has confirmed the extension of Carlo Ancelotti’s contract until the summer of 2026.
Persecond News reports that the Italian has committed to the deal with his existing contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, and the news was confirmed by the club shortly after.
The agreement was reached before the team went on vacation for a short winter break.
“Real Madrid CF and Carlo Ancelotti have agreed to extend our coach’s contract until June 30, 2026,” a statement read.
Amid serious interest from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) Real Madrid have always maintained that Ancelotti, was their top priority for the future of the dugout, their decision was to wait for the first few months of the period to pass by to ensure that the ex-Chelsea coach would be the best man for the job.
Ancelotti has surpassed expectations, with the team top of LALIGA and winning all six group stage games in the UEFA Champions League. What’s more, the incredible form of Jude Bellingham, the star summer signing, has only helped to back Ancelotti further.
In his five seasons as coach of Real Madrid, he has won 10 titles, two Champions League, two Club World Cups, two European Super Cups, one League, two Copa del Rey and one Spanish Super Cup.
Carlo Ancelotti is the only coach to have won four European Cups and the one to have achieved the most victories in the history of this competition (118), and he is also the first coach to win the five major European Leagues (Italy, England, France , Germany and Spain).
