President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to scout for and apprehend perpetrators of the Christmas day attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State that left at least 115 persons dead.
The President who gave the directive on Tuesday, condemned the attack calling it “primitive and heinous”.
Condoling with the government and the people of Plateau State on Tuesday, Tinubu assured that “these envoys of death, pain, and sorrow will not escape justice.”
Persecondnews had earlier reported the blood-curling coordinated attacks by assailants on about 15 communities in the Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi council areas of the state on Christmas eve.
The terrorists had set several houses on fire on Sunday night and also looted farm produce as well as destroyed properties after they butchered the villagers.
Army Capt. Oya James, spokesman for the military task force in the state, had confirmed the attacks, and assured that troops have been deployed to the area to ensure security of lives and property.
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said: “President Bola Tinubu strongly condemns the heinous and brutal attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, which resulted in the tragic loss of many lives.
“President Tinubu directs security agencies to immediately move in, scour every stretch of the zone, and apprehend the culprits.
“The President also directs immediate mobilization of relief resources for surviving victims of the primitive and cruel attacks as well as a medical treatment for the wounded.”
