Singer Harrysong has voiced his concerns regarding the purported denial by Kcee, co-founder of Five Star Music, to release royalties for several of his notable songs, including “Reggae Blues,” “Baba for the Girls,” “Samankwe,” “Ofeshe,” and “Better Pikin.”
This issue, persisting for seven years, has prompted Harrysong to appeal for the equitable distribution of his hard-earned royalties.
Harrysong expressed worry about the future well-being of his family, underscoring the significance of resolving the matter promptly.
“Apart from collecting 100 percent royalties on my songs, he also collects on all the songs I wrote for him while I was still a member of the Five Star Music. I wrote most of Kcee’s songs that blew him up as an artiste.
“I was tricked to sign a deal back then because they said they wanted to help me and my career but it turned out that they deceived me. I don’t want much, I just want my royalties and be happy,” he added.
His concern extends beyond the financial aspect, as he contemplates the impact on his family’s stability in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Harrysong said he invested time and creativity in crafting these songs, adding that he not not only seek compensation but also justice and fairness.
Amidst the allegations, there are claims of bullying and oppression by Kcee, who, according to Harrysong, has been the sole beneficiary of the royalties.
Despite the gravity of the allegations, Kcee has chosen to remain silent on the matter, offering no response or clarification regarding the accusations leveled against him.
