Hours after an explosion ripped through the Rivers State House of Assembly, the lawmakers have reportedly removed the House Leader, Mr Edison Ehie.
Ehie was removed by the lawmakers in the early hours of Monday, October 30, 2023, Persecondnews gathered.
Persecondnews had reported a blast at the assembly complex on Sunday night.
The impeachment of the House Leader, who is considered to be a “stumbling block” came on the heels of an impending impeachment procedure against Gov. Siminalayi Fubara.
The removal of the House Leader further led to a crisis as security operatives fired tear gas outside the Assembly complex.
It was learnt that the governor was at the Assembly Complex when the House members fled for safety over the incident.
Some protesters had massed outside the complex at the time of this report.
