The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in charge of Economic Policy, Dr Kingsley Obiora, has been released after his interrogation by the Special Investigations Panel set up to probe the CBN and allied entities.
Obiora was invited by the Panel on Wednesday for questioning on the activities of the apex bank under the suspended Gov. Godwin Emefiele.
The Jim Obazee-led special panel had been questioning the acting CBN GOVERNOR, deputy governors as well as other senior officials of the bank as part of the ongoing audit.
Obiora, was RELEASED after the panel had finished the preliminary interrogation with him as like other CBN governors and the acting GOv Sokunbi.
Persecondnews reports that Sa’adatu Ramalan Yero and the NIRSAL CEO, Abbas Masanawa were also released.
It was gathered that Obiora is being pressured to testify as a prosecution witness against Emefiele.
