Just in: Emefiele granted N20m bail

Suspended CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, was on Tuesday granted bail by a Federal High Court in Lagos in the sum of N20 million.

He was also granted a surety in the sum of N20 million.

Persecondnews earlier reported that Emefiele had at a Federal High Court in Lagos pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition brought against him by the Ministry of Justice.

He had arrived at the court before lawyers to face prosecution for being in possession of a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a license and ammunition.

The offences contravened Sections 4 and 27 (1b) of the Firearms Act, Laws of the Federation 2004.
