Another veteran actress, Cynthia Okereke, is dead

Nigeria’s entertainment industry has lost another veteran, popular Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke.

The news of her death was released on Twitter on Wednesday morning by a producer, Okechuwku.

He disclosed that he was about to pay for the flight ticket of Okereke to complete the work they started together only for him to hear that the actress died on Tuesday night.

The actress is a known face in the English version of the Nollywood industry and she acted mainly in epic and traditional movies.

While it couldn’t be ascertained what led to the death of Okereke, it was gathered that she died during a brief illness.

In a statement released by Okechuwku, he said no one saw her death coming as they had some “unfinished works” that should be wrapped up this week and next.
