Why I don’t have interest in industry awards, says Beautiful Nubia

Folk music star, Beautiful Nubia, has finally explained why he doesn’t place much importance and attention on music awards in Nigeria, saying awards don’t motivate him.

The singer shared his thoughts on his social media page where he told his critics that it shouldn’t be surprising to many people that he has no interest in industry awards.

He stated that he is not the kind of musician who operates as an entertainer/celebrity always looking for the next gig or endorsement contract.

“I am a musician who operates more as a physician with solutions to all the maladies of your life, a healer, life guide and torch bearer.

“I am a musician who operates as a reform agent deploying ideas as tools to help lost society find its way back to sanity,” Nubia declared.

The veterinary doctor turned musician stated further that not everyone exists just to make money and acquire wealth.

“To many of you, that means I will remain poor and die poor.

“I didn’t come to this world to meet your expectations. I came here to do my job. When it is done, I will leave just as I arrived. I am just a flash of light passing through,” Persecondnews quotes him as saying.
