” Immediately the DSS took over, they ordered policemen guarding the EFCC Complex to ‘stand down’ or face the consequences”

The Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday became a spectacle to behold as the Department of State Services (DSS) men stormed the office with an armoured tank to prevent access to the facility.

The armoured tank was strategically placed at the entrance with DSS operatives fully armed to the teeth preventing EFCC officials from gaining access to their offices.

The secret police sent packing those who were already in their offices to send a strong warning that they meant business.

Persecondnews reports that bystanders and motorists were outraged by the conduct of the two federal agencies coming a day after the new President, Bola Tinubu, took office.

The incident resulted in a traffic jam on Awolowo Road, affecting Norman Williams Street and other roads close to the ‘war zone”.

A source said ownership of the building is at the centre of the invasion.

Immediately the DSS took over, they ordered policemen guarding the EFCC Complex to ‘stand down’ or face the consequences.

An official told newsmen that some of the policemen at the gate were disarmed.

“The way they stormed out office, I have never seen anything like that. The type of guns with them is out of this world. You dare not challenge them. They didn’t listen to anybody.

“There was pandemonium everywhere. They just told us not to enter the place. Those inside were told to leave immediately.

“Policemen guarding our office were helpless. They couldn’t do anything,” the official said.
