After a month-long restful sojourn abroad, the President-elect, Mr Bola Tinubu, on Monday arrived in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Tinubu, accompanied by his wife, Oluremi, arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and was treated to a tumultuous welcome by a crowd of supporters.
Top party members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress who were at the airport to receive Tinubu include the Vice-President-elect, Sen. Kashim Shettima, and governors.
Persecondnews recalls that Tinubu had on March 21 travelled to UK, France and Saudi Arabia in March after the elections and his declaration as President-elect and receiving the Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu in Abuja.
A statement by Tunde Rahman, media aide to Tinubu, the overseas trip was to enable Tinubu to rest and plan his transition programme ahead of inauguration on May 29.
