Adamawa makes history as it produces first female governor, Aisha Binani

Nigeria’s first female Governor, Sen. Aisha Dahiru Binani of the APC, has emerged in Adamawa State, the home state of PDP’s 2023 Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Binani was on Sunday declared winner of the governorship poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yola, the state capital.

The senator polled 409,909 to defeat her PDP closest rival who score 406,617.

Persecondnews recalls that Adamawa had produced first female Senator, Folasade Bent from the North.

Results of the governorship election so far declared in 28 states are:
Lagos – Sanwo-Olu(APC)
Oyo – Seyi Makinde(PDP)
Borno – Zulum(APC)
Benue – Rev Fr Alia(APC)
Kwara – Abdulrahman Abdulrazak(APC)
Bauchi – Sadiq Abubakar(APC)
Katsina – Dikko Umar(APC )
Rivers – Funbara(PDP)
Niger – Bago(APC)
Kaduna – Uba Sani(APC)
Ogun – Dapo Abiodun(APC)
and Abia – Alex Otti(LP)
