The Presiding Pastor, House on the Rock, Abuja Chapter, Uche Aigbe, has been detained by the Intelligence Response Team, Force Intelligence Bureau, Garki Abuja.

The pastor frightened congregants, who attended the second service in the church on Sunday when he brandished an AK-47 rifle on the altar.

Aigbe was reportedly using the gun to illustrate his teaching on a Biblical topic with the gun strapped to his body.

Persecondnews recalls that the topic was, “Guarding your hearts from false teachers” and “faith without work is dead.”

Reacting to the incident, the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Sadiq Abubakar, has recommended to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Usman Baba, to dismiss the police officer, Inspector Musa Audu, whose gun was used for the preaching.

He will be facing an orderly room trial for handing over his rifle to the pastor, the Commissioner was quoted as saying.

AK-47 falls under prohibited fire arms in Nigeria and no one has the right to possess it except an officer of the law, and not all security officers handle such weapon except one is assigned to bear the firearms according to the Firearms Act.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed that the Pastor had a case to answer in a series of tweet on Sunday:

“The pastor will have a case to answer. AK47??. It falls under prohibited Firearms in Nigeria, and no one bears it except an officer of the law, and not all of them have the right, selected sec operatives, but no individual has the right to bear it.
