2022 World Cup: Morocco make history, zoom to semi-final, beat Portugal 1-0

119

Morocco made history today at the ongoing 2022 World Cup as they qualify for first-ever semi-final as the Atlas Lions defeated Portugal 1-0.

This is the first time an African team will be making it through to the semi final stages since the tournament started in 1930.

Having defeated Spain in the round of 16 via penalty shootout, the Moroccan team became the pride of the continent and also the Arab nation.

The Atlas Lions got off to a flying start thanks to a brilliant goal from Youssef En-Nesyri in the 42nd minute.

The goal was enough to send Morocco to the semi final of the FIFA World Cup.
