Few weeks after Sen. Andi Ubah escaped assassination attempt in Anambra State, Auchi-based preacher, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, on Friday was attacked by some yet-to-be apprehended gunmen, killing at least six people in his convoy.
Four policemen and two others were felled by their bullets in a deadly attack on Auchi-Warake road, close to Auchi.
A woman and the driver of one of the vehicles in the convoy were among those killed.
It was gathered that members of the Vigilance Group at Ivbiaro in Owan East council area of the state, however, apprehended and lynched one of the dare-devil gunmen.
Another unconfirmed source also said other members of the gang had been apprehended by men of the Nigerian Army, who allegedly gave them a hot chase immediately they got wind of the attack, and have been taken to the Auchi Police Area Command as at 6:47pm.
The Edo Police Command spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, has yet to comment on the incident..
