Coming into the movie industry from the corporate business world, actor Deyemi Okanlawon knew that movie-making is one part of the job but building a reputable and sustainable brand is another aspect many people don’t pay attention to.

The reigning actor, who is famous for his swift and eloquent interpretation of character and skills, has emerged as one of directors’ delights in the movie making business.

But Okanlawon during a briefing in Lagos days back at a private screening of a new flick said he had work on substance first but didn’t forget to keep his mindset free of mediocrity that comes with being complacent.

According to him, he once left the movie industry at a time when he was getting dissatisfied with the job.

Okanlawon said he returned to the corporate world where he worked closely with Ben Bruce’s SilverBird distribution company which afforded him the opportunity of learning more about the workings of the movie industry.

He would later return to reckoning during the COVID-19 pandemic break as he said he started receiving calls from producers he has always wanted to work with and decided to return to full acting.

Okanlawon also revealed that he’s currently working behind the scenes on a few productions but would love to keep them under wraps for now until the time for the unveiling.
