Sack of NIPOST Postmaster-General for graft: Buhari appoints Adepoju as successor

Following the sack of the Postmaster- General, Dr Ismail Adebayo Adewusi for graft, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a new Postmaster General/CEO for the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

He is Mr Adeyemi Sunday Adepoju, a professional accountant and a former member of the Federal House of Representatives from 2011 – 2015kf and 2015 – 2019, representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency.

Adepoju will serve for an initial term of five years.

His appointment followed the recommendations of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami.

NIPOST is an agency under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

Persecondnews recalls that the Minister had on September 22 approved the appointment of Barrister Bulus Samuila Yakubu as the acting Post Master General of the Federation following the suspension of Adewusi.

Adewusi had served as the Commissioner for Economic Planning in Lagos State in the second term of ex-Governor Bola Tinubu (2003-2007).
