The planned strike by the leadership of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN)and the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has been suspended.

The suspension of the industrial action followed the intervention of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mr Mohammed Bello- Koko.

The unions on Friday afternoon agreed at a meeting with the NPA boss to suspend the action.
