Dr Doyin Okupe, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to former President Olusegun Obasanjo is the running mate of Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate and ex-Anambra Governor, Mr Peter Obi, and this official.
“I stand in as the vice-presidential candidate of the party. Labour party has submitted my name as the VP of the party,” Okupe said on Channels TV on Friday.
Fielding questions on “Politics Today”, the Ogun-born medical doctor-turned politician confirmed that his name had been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by his party.
Persecondnews recalls that INEC had fixed Friday, June 17 as the deadline for the submission of names of vice- presidential candidates of all the political parties ahead of the 2023 polls.
Explaining how his party will wrest power from the ruling All Progressive Congress, Okupe said LP will ensure that Nigeria is returned to its rightful owners, saying “Nigerians have suffered so much in the hands of APC.”
