The Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) has denied rumours of the purported sack of its Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
This is coming after social media was awash on Thursday with the news of the alleged sack of Emefiele.
The report, which was carried by some top blogs, alleged that Buhari had relieved Emefiele of his duty on Thursday.
Persecondnews reports that the CBN governor is currently trending on Twitter, after unsubstantiated reports by some top blogs reported that he had been relieved of his position.
Reacting to the reports, the Head of Corporate Communications at CBN, Osita Nwanisiobi, described the sack of the CBN Governor as untrue.
Persecondnews gathered that the CBN governor is currently in Davos, Switzerland, on an official assignment.
