President Muhammadu Buhari has challenged cabinet members who are yet to toe the path of honour in pursuit of their presidential and other political aspirations to follow the example of the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwujabu.

According to the president’s directive, anybody who bought form to contest any elective position, excluding the Vice President, should immediately resign and face his ambition.

Buhari’s media aide, Garba Shehu said on Wednesday in an interview in Hausa:”He (President) told them to follow the example of Minister of State for Education, Nwujabu who purchased form and tendered his resignation.

“The president has given a directive to ministers who purchased nomination forms to contest for the Presidency. That is the directive he gave.”

Giving an inkling into a Federal Government circular in the offing, Garba also said: “I will advise that you wait for the circular that would be issued by the Secretary to the Government.

“The circular will explain in details those affected. Leave Vice President Osinbajo out of this. He is not affected.

“First of all anyone aspiring for the Presidency should not remain in position. There is also this bill passed by the National Assembly that was signed by the  President sign into law which is generating controversy.

“There is a court that did not approved of it, we heard that another court rule on it.”

“What I want people to understand is that whether there is law or no law the President is the one who appoints and he has power to remove any appointee.
