The immediate past President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, may have made good his intention to run for President on the platform of APC as a serving governor purchased the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for him.

The governor had credited APC account domiciled with Heritage Bank with N100 million for the forms.

Accordingly, Heritage Bank has in a letter dated May 9, 2022 notified the party of the receipt of the amount.

A letter addressed to the APC National Organising Secretary, and co-signed by Heritage Bank Regional Head in Abuja, Mr Daniel Oniko; and the bank’s Experienced Center Manager, Mr Isaiah Ediae, is entitled, “Notification of Credit Into Account: All Progressives Congress (APC) Collections Account: 560000761″.

“We write to confirm that your subject account has been credited with the sum of N30,000,000.00 (Thirty Million Naira Only) being Expression of Interest form for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for Presidency.

“Please take this as a credit advice of the transaction in this regard,” the letter states in part.

Also, a second letter from the bank informed APC of the receipt of N70 million for the Nomination Form for Jonathan.

Persecondnews reports that with Jonathan’s entry into the presidential race, he has increased the number of aspirants in APC to 35.

The aspirants are scheduled to participate in the party’s special convention on May 30 to pick a candidate.

The former president had served as Deputy Governor to the late Gov.
Bayelsa Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, who died on October 11, 2015, and later became governor.

Jonathan also served as Vice-President and President on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party from 1999 to 2015 following the death of President Umaru Yar’Adua.
