The Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) has received a big boost and support from a Nigerian in the Diaspora with the donation of six brand new trumpets.
The musical instruments were delivered at the club’s secretariat on Funso Williams Avenue in Surulere, Lagos, on Wednesday.
Rev. Samuel lkpea, the National Chairman, who took delivery of the instruments, said they would help members in trumpeting the performance of Nigeria’s internationals at football competition and rouse them to victory.
Noting that the gift came after he discussed with the donor, who did not want to be identified, lkpea said:” I discussed with one of our members in the Diaspora on Monday, 12th April, 2021, and I complained about the need for trumpets in the club as a matter of urgency.
“Surprisingly, I got a call from a delivery guy today who said he had a package for the club; and when he got here, behold, it was six brand
new trumpets from him.”
“On this note I want the house to say words of prayer for him and two of my wonderful members in the U.S. who have been supportive of this club before now,” lkpea said in a statement by the National Media Officer, Peter Ejiofor, a copy of which was given to Persecondnews.
The Public Relations Officer of the club, Dominic Ehimare, said: “I feel very elated with this gesture from a member in the Diaspora.
“This is an eloquent testimony of your belief in the leadership of Rev. Ikpea and his current executive.
“Thank you very much. I can assure you that we will deliver and shine like the northern star in the discharge of our duties as patriotic citizens of Nigeria. Thank you for your donations.’’
Another wrote on the club’s Whatsapp platform, NFSC Global’’, that
this is certainly the Lord’s doing and it can only be marvelous in our eyes.
“Thank you our able chairman for a good job and more importantly, that member for his spontaneous response to such a clarion call.”
