For Super Eagles/Napoli Striker, Victor Osimhen, it has been a double “tragedy”  battling nagging shoulder injury and testing positive for COVID-19 pandemic, reports Persecondnews.

Napoli and Nigerian Striker, Osimhen returned a positive test on Friday, having been away for the Yuletide break.

The Italian disclosed this in a tweet via its Twitter account on New Year day.

“The club can confirm that Victor Osimhen has tested positive for COVID-19, following his return to Italy.

“Osimhen is currently asymptomatic and has not come into contact with the rest of the squad.,” Napoli tweeted.

Osimhen has not featured for Napoli since he sustained a shoulder injury against Sierra Leone last November while on international duty for the Super Eagles.

He could also not feature for the Super Eagles in the twin international friendlies against Desert Warriors of Algeria and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia due to similar injury factor.
