The final report of the Justice Ayo Salami-led probe panel on the alleged infractions by the suspended Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, was on Friday submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Accompanying the report were four boxes of exhibits. Inaugurated by Buhari in July 2020, the panel was given 45 days to carry out its assignment but was later extended following a requested for more time.
Magu had faced the probe for allegations bordering on corruption, mismanagement, lack of transparency in managing recovered assets by the commission as well as abuse of office.
Persecondnews recalls that the supervising minister, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN) had inaundated the president’s office with Makami’s “sins”.
Following his suspension, an acting Chairman has taken over the affairs of the commission.
