Elderstateman and one-time Governor of the old Ondo State, Evangelist Bamidele Olomilua, has passed on.
The 80 years old breathed his last at his country home, Ikere Ekiti in Ekiti State Thursday morning.
Persecondnews recalls that Olumilua was  elected governor in the botched third republic between 1991 and 1993 before the creation of Ekiti in 1996 by the late military dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha’s administration.
Family sources said his corpse had been deposited at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital morgue in Ado Ekiti.
Mr Olumuyiwa Olumilua, the former governor’s son and current State Commissioner for Information and Values,  had tweeted just before his father passed on to greet him on his birthday: “Happy 80th birthday to our father, our leader, and one of icons of our time, my dad, His Excellency Evangelist Bamidele Isola Olumilua. Wishing him more years in good health.”
